“Ledsome” is a dance performance by Apostolos Kousinas, based on his book “Joy, the little girl who forgot.” The story explores the concept of joy and the value of sharing. In its dance adaptation, the performance delves into loneliness, specifically, the loneliness experienced within a crowd. How is it possible to feel alone while surrounded by so many people? What drives our need for belonging? How much effort and overexertion do we put into chasing happiness? The performance examines the loneliness we experience, our need for acceptance, and the emotional weight we carry throughout this journey.
The word “Ledsome” is used to describe people who feel alone within a crowd, wandering through a sea of anonymous faces with whom they cannot communicate or trust in any way.
Apostolos Kousinas
Apostolos Kousinas was born in 1994 in Serres. He accomplished achievements in national and world level as pole vaulter with the Greek national team. He graduated from Physical education and Sports Science university and later on from the Greek National Opera. As a performer he worked in Greece with choreographers and directors such as K. Rigos, A. Papadamaki, T. Papadopoulou, G. Skourletis, with N. Frangi in Belgium and E. Christodoulidou in Cyprus.
In 2024 he published his first book called “Joy, the little girl who forgot” for primary school kids. Along with his artistic work, he currently follows a master degree in rehabilitation.
